Region

Sandboxes run in AWS us-east-1 (N. Virginia). The API, the dashboard and live view are served from the same region. Coming soon: more regions.

Plan limits

Preview values. They will change before general availability.
What the gateway answers when you hit one: Per-sandbox size limits, per-minute create rates and request rates exist in the plans but are not enforced by the gateway yet. Sandbox size comes from the template.

Cold starts

When no sandbox has run for a while, the sandbox servers are stopped to save cost. The next create waits while one starts (up to 60 s); if that takes longer, the API answers 503 with Retry-After: 30 and the SDK retries. Paused sandboxes do not need a running server until you resume them.
How long a cold start takes on the production fleet has not been measured yet, so the preview has no published create or resume latency. On the engine’s test hosts a resume took 0.8 to 0.9 s.
